To me, it is often about being a mentor as well as a teacher. Breaking down the things we do when we ride into bite size chunks and making it more accessible, reminding people of what they may have already learned years ago (and perhaps forgotten) or helping them to understand things that have never quite made sense that they have read about or heard about. Hopefully, with my laid back approach I can help you achieve your dream.
I prefer to work with my clients throughout their journey rather than one off lessons as I enjoy watching my clients grow with their horses, spending time at shows with them and generally being there when I’m needed, even if it’s a phone call in the evening for advice or just someone to call to say how well everything is going. It really is that simple, I just like being there for my clients!
Having previously been Head of a school, I am also aware of the need to have appropriate measures in place to ensure everyone’s safety so I have Insurance, First Aid certification, Enhanced DBS and Safeguarding certification (for working with children), a Health and Safety Statement, COVID 19 precautions and I also automatically risk assess as necessary.

Excellent at in hand work to as we have had several rehab periods from unfortunate injuries so continue to learn strengthening exercises that we build up to ridden. Dawn has been very supportive over the years, particularly at events. At one particular occasion when I was competing for the first time at dressage on my new horse, she soothed nerves, warmed us up and also pointed out the important fact that a noseband was compulsory, and found one for us!
